In preparation of the start of the athletic season for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year, our personnel trained with the Cumberland Valley School District Athletic Trainers to familiarize our providers with the safety gear worn by student athletes, and procedures for transporting these athletes to the hospital.  Performed annually, we welcomed Head Athletic Trainer Sheila Mueller and her staff to our station in showcasing the athletic safety equipment so that our EMS providers become familiar with the remove of the equipment as well as practicing the packaging of the athlete in anticipation for transportation.  After the practice sessions, there were roundtable discussions in treatment plans by both EMS crews and the Athletic Trainers to help better preplan patient care, rather than waiting until the moment arrives.  The session was informative and beneficial for both parties.
